This blog was born when I realized that there are great number of free Stitch-A-Longs that I miss because I never find out about them. This blog is meant to be a list of current and upcoming free SALs. I may also include those with a small cost (approximately the cost of a coffee).
I am not running an SAL. All posts link to the designer’s website/group/blog and the specific SAL. Anyone interested in joining that SAL must do so through the designer.
This is not a blog meant for people to find others stitching the same design. It is meant to be a resource for finding SALs.
If you have information about an SAL not mentioned on this blog please leave a comment and let others know about it.
What is considered as an "SAL"?
Any design released in parts.
What types of stitching are permitted?
Anything involving a needle is fair game. This includes:
Cross stitch, Hardanger, Counted needlework, Freeform embroidery, Blackwork, etc.
What do the status tags mean?
Active - This SAL is currently ongoing. You must click on the title to reach the designer’s blog and follow his/her rules.
Passive - The active SAL has concluded. However the chart is still available online and you can stitch it at your own pace.
Future - This SAL has not started.
Closed – The designer had a deadline for sign-ups and the deadline has passed. This SAL has not finished, but there is no option to join. The designer may offer the pattern for sale in the future, but there is no information available.
Retired - This SAL has concluded. In certain cases the designer may offer the pattern for sale. Please contact the designer for further information. Please do not approach me or anyone else about obtaining the chart. Copyright rules apply to freebies and we cannot provide you with a copy. Thank you for your understanding.
Other – The join-up status of this SAL is complicated. Please see the specific SAL for more.
How do I submit information about a SAL?
You can leave a link to the SAL on this page, or email me. My contact info is available on my profile.
Additional information such as start date, end date, rules etc is greatly appreciated as it makes my job easier, but it is not required.
Please leave your name and a link to your blog (if applicable) if you would like to be acknowledged as the source.
I submitted information about an SAL and the information has not appeared on the blog.
Please be patient. If it has not appeared after 48 hours, then you may resend the information.
I want to find others to stitch ______ with me.
Love 4 Stitch is an excellent Yuku board that runs several themed SALs.
I have a question that you have not addressed.
Please leave your question on this page, or send me an email. I will be happy to answer your question to the best of my abilities.
Hi and congrats on the new awsome blog! I tried to comment on your personal blog on the announcement message, but it doesn't seem to work. About the french sals, http://broderiededine.canalblog.com/archives/2012/02/07/23462698.html this blog has just announced a mystery doll sal starting in March but they gave already the thread list. I think I knew of some more french sals, but I should check :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! Work apparebtly blocks French blogs (but not Blogger, weird), so I'll take a look when I get home.
DeleteI disabled comments on the announcement because I'm hoping to keep everything related to this blog over here XD
Here's a new SAL from Blue Ladie Desigsn. It's one letter a month for about two years! They've just released "C"
